Lead by Artistic Director Megan Morse Jans, the DragonFly Dance Experiment presents “Thread” performed at Creative Alliance at the Patterson in Baltimore, MD on Friday May 27th, 2011 at 8pm. Graduating from Broadneck Senior High School and have had received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Kent State University, she is currently teaching Introduction to Dance as well as Jazz Dance Technique at Anne Arundel Community College.

DragonFly Dance Experiment is a growing arts organization and a vital member of the Annapolis performing arts community. DragonFly Dance Experiment brings important community oriented arts events to Maryland and provides a highly accessible platform for dance and artistic collaborations. Artistic Director Megan Morse Jans was the recipient of a 2009 Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council and DragonFly has been seen on stages locally, regionally and internationally.

In “Thread” the Annapolis based dance company will explore themes of isolation and connection and the changing of inter-personal connections in a post-viral world. Is our ability to access infinite information, and meet virtually anyone via the internet sacrificing person to person interaction? DragonFly is joined by guest choreographers—Stephanie Yezek, choreographer/dancer Nicole McClam, and dancer Tommy Parlon.
